Choose low emission foods –

What can you do?

Eat fewer dairy products: especially cheeses and butter

Among dairy products, cheese and butter have been reported to have one of the highest environmental impacts.

Eat less of the other animal products (meats, fish, seafood, and eggs)

Choose lower-emission meats: fish, chicken, duck, kangaroo, pork. Despite where you get your beef or lamb from, substituting with chicken and pork will reduce your carbon emissions.

Choose more plant-based foods

While good quality meat provides our bodies with important vitamins, minerals and nutrients; plant based proteins have their own unique set of benefits too.

Choose foods with low emissions

Being a Climatarian means your diet should include foods that emit fewer emissions. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the hierarchy of impacts on food production.
